As of 4:00PM March 14, 2025
7:45PM – March 13 – I’m sure you have noticed the water has cleared up a little bit. Just a reminder though, we are still under a boil order until at least tomorrow early afternoon. We will advise you once we get the all-clear from the lab.
9:40AM – March 13 – The sample was taken to WF this morning, to begin the 24 hour process at noon today. Best guess is we COULD be clear tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. We will keep you updated.
7:00PM – March 12 – We are back up to full pressure (you folks at the end of the lines may be a few more minutes.) There is going to be air in the lines, causing the cloudiness. Of course, we are still under a boil order, a new sample will be taken to WF in the morning to start the 24 hour process. Soonest we will be clear will be Friday, most likely Friday afternoon. Please make sure your neighbors who might not see these updates are aware! Thank you!
5:15PM – Weld is holding as of now. Ross still diligently bringing up the water slowly to preserve our pipes. Give him 2-3 hours more to get it back to full pressure. We are STILL under a boil order, and that has been extended now until AT LEAST Friday afternoon.
4:00PM – March 12 – Ross is starting to bring the water back up, praying that the latest weld the city made holds. If it does, give it 2-3 hours to come back to full pressure, after he flushes. The water will be cloudy like it was yesterday. Will keep you informed as we find out! Please pass on to your neighbors!
2:55PM – March 12 – Bad news folks. The city had a leak in their weld, and couldn’t fix it so they are having to shut us down again. I will keep you informed as things progress. This will also extend the boil order for another day as a new sample must be taken in the morning to WF. Which would mean best case, Friday afternoon clearance.
8:45AM – March 12 – Ross got the samples to the lab in Wichita Falls early this morning. Its a 24 hour process that starts at their end at noon, so hopefully we will know early afternoon tomorrow that we are clear, and hopefully the boil order will be lifted. We will update this, and the webpage as soon as we know anything.
6:35PM – Water is back on full force. Now, there is AIR in the water, which makes it cloudy, but thats to be expected. He will take the sample to the lab in the morning, and we will let you know when the boil order is lifted. Should be Thursday afternoon.
5:05PM – Ross is STILL bringing the water up, and flushing. Hang in there! Should be soon!
3:00PM – The welding is complete, and Ross is bringing up the water slowly to preserve OUR pipes! We expect full capacity by 4-5PM. The boil order will still be in effect until further notice. We are HOPING by Thursday afternoon, it might be cleared.
11:45AM – The boil order has been issued.
– Best case scenario: The city fixes their line today. Ross gets a sample to the lab tomorrow morning. Boil order lifted Thursday sometime. Again, best case scenario. –

10:00AM – March 11 – We have just been informed that the water will be shut down at about 1030AM so the city can fix a leak they have on the supply line to us. Yes, this will mean a boil order when it comes back up. The details are still sketchy, as we were not informed, more or less instructed, so to speak, that this is what the city is doing. We will keep you as advised and up to date as we can.

Important!!!
The City of Bowie, in an effort to keep our residents at Lake Amon Carter informed, has developed a voluntary mass messaging system to notify residents at Lake Amon Carter of emergency conditions at the lake and Selma Park (flooding, lake closure, park closure, etc.). Using this system, lake residents can be notified by automated phone call, text message, or e-mail. There is no charge for these notifications. If you would like to participate in this program, please provide the following information:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!
Dear Valued Members,
This is a notification that we have been forced to implement a water rate increase due to the rising costs of supplies, materials, labor, and maintenance, state testing, mileage, fuel, utilities, and our new injection system that has been required by the state of Texas. Our latest water testing has produced great results, however, our overall operating costs have increased substantially while still maintaining a quality rural water supply.
Our new rate will go into effect Oct 5, 2023 for the November billing, with the base rate set at $55.00. The rates over that have remained constant at $4.50 per 1000 gallons water, just as it is now. (You can see a sample rate chart under Rates and Fees)
We are grateful for your ongoing support and understanding in this matter. If you have any questions, please visit our website or contact our office direct.
Sincerely,
Your Amon Carter Lake Water Supply Staff and Board of Directors

Our Service Area
We do not service Silver Lakes (contact the city of Bowie), Frontier Shores, or anything outside our service area. This includes new developments outside our established service area. Our system was designed and implemented in 1995, by a group of engineers establishing our maximum capacity. Entertaining anything outside of that area would impact our current customers. Thank you for your understanding.

We appreciate all our valued members that use our autopay system or mail their payment in a timely manner. Thank you, because you are the ones that keep us going! Unfortunately, we have some accounts that take advantage of all of us as a corporation and fail to make timely payments. In order to maintain our current status we will no longer be able to serve accounts that are over ten (10) days late. After ten (10) days your service will be discontinued until the account is caught up. There will be an additional $75.00 service charge per occurrence to cover equipment and transportation costs to turn off your service, and another to restore your water service.
The billing you receive in the U. S. Mail every month is your reminder to pay your bill. There will be no past due notices mailed out.
